BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Shanece McKinney didn't miss a shot en route to a career-high 19 points to lead LSU to a 65-56 win over Mississippi State on Thursday. McKinney had 7 baskets and 5 free throws as the Tigers heated up in the second half. After making just 8 of 22 shots in the first half, the Tigers went 17 of 26 in the second half.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Vince Hunter scored a career-high 26 points to lead a hot UTEP offense in an 89-79 win over Louisiana Tech on Thursday. UTEP shot 56 percent from the field and moved into a tie for first place in the conference with the win.

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Dantrell Thomas forced a turnover and made the game-winning free throws in the closing seconds of overtime to lift Nicholls State over Oral Roberts 73-72 Thursday night. Thomas scored a career-high 28 points, made 15 of 18 free throw attempts, and had three steals to lead Nicholls State.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — LaQuentin Miles scored 15 points and converted a three-point play with 1 second left to lift Central Arkansas past McNeese State 76-75 Thursday night. The Bears shot 47.3 percent from the field and hit 13 3-pointers.
