Fournette likely to return vs. Ole Miss

BATON ROUGE - LSU tailback Leonard Fournette is expected to return to the field Saturday when the No. 23 Tigers host No. 22 Ole Miss at 8 p.m. on ESPN, LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron said Monday afternoon at his weekly press luncheon. Fournette has not played since reinjuring his ankle at Auburn on September 24.

"I expect Leonard to be back this week. I expect him to practice today and throughout the week," Orgeron said.

Fournette, who gained 101 yards on 16 carries in the loss at Auburn, visited Orgeron in his office Friday and said he would be ready for the Ole Miss game. Orgeron said Fournette also spoke to the team at halftime of the Southern Mississippi game on Saturday when the Tigers found themselves in a 10-10 tie before winning 45-10.

"He's all in," Orgeron said.

Fournette has 386 yards on 67 carries this season through three games. He also did not play in the Jacksonville State game in week two after aggravating the ankle late in the season opener against Wisconsin. Fournette originally hurt his ankle during August practices.
