Several national media reports, including from NFL.com, and ESPN.com, are saying that Saints long-ball receiving threat Brandin Cooks is being sought by teams, including the Titans and Eagles, as a possible trade target.
NFL.com Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Cooks is drawing interest among management in attendance at the NFL Scouting Combine. ESPN's Chris Mortensen, said one scenario has the Titans trading the 18th pick overall to the Saints for Cooks, while the other has the Titans swapping the 5th overall pick to the Saints in exchange for the Saints 11th pick. The Titans would apparently also give up another later pick. The second scenario likely would mean the Saints are targeting a highly-rated player who would be unlikely to be around in the 11th spot.
Rapoport says Cooks was unhappy about a diminished role in the Saints attack, although he still caught 78 passes for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns.
With the Saints needing defensive help and with receiving targets like Michael Thomas, Will Snead and Colby Fleener, Cooks could perhaps fetch a high pick for the team.
