Saints offensive tackle Jammal Brown was arrested on domestic abuse and battery charges Thursday after his wife placed a 911 call, according to St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain.

Strain said the call was placed shortly before noon and Brown was taken into custody without incident. Strain said Brown was fully cooperative with authorities.

According to deputies, an argument between the couple grew into a physical conflict after which his wife called authorities.

The Saints had no comment on the arrest other than to say they knew about the situation.

Brown was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
