Skyler Green's Diary Part 4

Skyler Green

Former LSU standout Skyler Green is trying to make the Saints as a return man/receiver and he really stood out in the team’s scrimmage Saturday, returning a kick 96 yards for a score and hauling in a 46-yard bomb from quarterback Tyler Palko. He’s been sharing his thoughts with WWLTV.com during camp and today talks about his big scrimmage, his day off and what he still needs to do to make the team.

I went out there (Saturday) with the mindset that I was going to make all the plays that I could possibly make when they put me in and just have fun out there doing what I do and I went out and had fun.

I caught the ball well, got in and out of my routes well and I just went out there and made plays and when the opportunity presented itself, I just went out there and did what I had to do.

I think I have to go out there and make the plays that I can make and stay within myself and I just have to go out there and have a good time, catch the ball well, run routes well, get some great returns, I know guys are going to make some good blocks and I have to run off their blocks. I just want to enjoy the time I have on the field.

That’s the main goal. You are playing in the NFL and every opportunity you get to go out on the field and show what you have and it’s going to be on film, once you lay that film down, you have the opportunity to compose that kind of team.

My off day Sunday went pretty good. I spent it with my family and kind of just relaxed and laid back and tried to give my body a chance to heal as much as I can. I felt good going out to practice today (Monday) and I gave it the best that I had.

They haven’t told us anything about the playing time (for Thursday night’s game) yet, but pretty much on Wednesday, we’ll find out how much playing time each and every individual will get.

I know everyone’s in my corner and that’s why I go out there with the mindset to make plays. Everyone is going to critique me, but I’m just going out to make the plays that I know I can make.
