Tulane's Hunter goes 31st in MLB draft

Tulane pitcher Shooter Hunt, projected to be a first-round selection in this year’s first-year player draft for Major League Baseball, was picked between the first and second rounds in the compensatory round.
Hunt was taken by the Minnesota Twins with the 31st compensatory pick.
Southeastern Louisiana’s Wade MIley (pitcher) was taken 43rd by Arizona; Jeremy Bleich, a Newman product who went to Stanford, went 44th to the New York Yankees; and UNO second baseman Johnny Giavotella went 49th to Kansas City.
All went with compensatory picks.
