Brown could be back in 2-3 days

Saints Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jammal Brown was carted off the practice field Tuesday with what appeared to be a severe injury to his right knee but instead turned out to be only a bone bruise. Payton said Brown could be back in as little as two to three days, though it is unlikely that he'll play in Friday night's game against Buffalo.

Jammal Brown was carted off the field at Millsaps College Tuesday after suffering a knee injury during drills.
The injury happened during running drills where Brown was blocking. He was down on the field for several minutes and was looked at by the trainers, coaches and GM Mickey Loomis.
Head coach Sean Payton said the trainer initially looked at the knee and said it appeared 'stable' which he said was better than it appearing to be loose.
Zach Strief worked at left tackle after Brown's injury, but Payton said that the position would be open until Brown's return. Jim Henderson reported that Strief received some criticism from Payton for his play in Sunday night's game.
Brown was the 13th selection overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. He played right tackle his rookie year before moving to left tackle to protect Drew Brees' blind side in 2006. He was named All-Pro by the Associated Press and was a first team Pro Bowl selection.
