Saints' McKenzie likely lost for season
09:37 PM CST on Sunday, November 9, 2008
The New Orleans Saints likely lost cornerback Mike McKenzie to a season-ending injury after he broke his right kneecap. He was on crutches in the New Orleans locker room. The 10-year veteran cornerback was carted off the field after suffering the injury while defending a third-down pass to Michael Jenkins.
McKenzie tried to make the best of his second straight season-ending knee injury.
"I hope I get credit for that (tackle)," McKenzie said, forcing a smile while leaning on crutches after the game.
He tore his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his right knee last season.
