2009 NBA Dunk Contest
New Orleans Hornets
Julian Wright
The Dunk Contest contestants were named on Christmas and it should be another great contest. Dwight “Superman” Howard, Rudy Gay and Nate Robinson are all proven in the sense they are big game dunkers. They all have been in the dunk contest before so I think that will be great for the fans since they are already familiar with some of the contestants and it will make for a great contest. I heard fans are getting the chance to vote in the fourth contestant on NBA.com. (The choices are Rudy Fernandez of Portland, Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma City and Joe Alexander of Milwaukee) If I voted I would vote for Joe Alexander, he is good size about six-feet-seven or eight and he can jump. It’s harder for taller guys because you need to be more creative than the shorter guys. The smaller guys usually get the oohs and ahhs because they jump so high. If Joe gets in and is able to add creativity with his athleticism he would have a good chance to be a sleeper.
Favorite Dunks of all time
Some of my old school favorites include Dr. J and Michael Jordan jumping from the free throw line. But my favorite dunk of all time is when Vince Carter did the 360 windmill that was insane I don’t think anyone can top that see for yourself right here… ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_e931PFwz0 )
My favorite dunk I ever did was a windmill tip dunk that I did in high school when I had my young legs J
Christmas
After our game in Orland I had to chance to come home to my family. It was good to be with my mom and my brother. I personally like to give more than receive as far as presents go. I got my mom a nice necklace and my brother likes shoes so I got him some shoes but they are in the mail so hopefully he gets them before he reads this.
New Years Plans
This New Years’ I don’t have any big plans. The team will be practicing and traveling out to the West Coast for a big four game road trip against some of the Western Conferences’ top teams including the Lakers, Nuggets, Jazz and Blazers.
In 2009 I am going to try and be a little more organized I have a lot of books and electronics at my house that I need to organize better.
CP3 II
CP3 wore his new signature shoes on Christmas and they are nice!! I’ve had the chance to see them a few other times in the locker room and at practice. They definitely fit him and his style of play and the shoe has a lot of messages and designs built in them. Look for them in 2009…
