NEW ORLEANS - On Friday morning, there are even more road closures commuters need to know about in order to get around town.
Tents have been placed in the river-bound lanes of Poydras Avenue near the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The tents house metal detectors that will be used for the big game.
At 7 p.m. Friday, the lake-bound lanes of Poydras Street will close and the Poydras exit from Claiborne Avenue will close. These closures will remain in effect through Sunday night.
The Interstate-10 Tchoupitoulas exit remains open, but drivers can only go towards Uptown.

On Saturday, the Canal Street-bound lanes of North Rampart Street will close between Esplanade and Saint Peter due to a NFL awards show at the Mahalia Jackson Theater.
The area around the Superdome has been set up with heavy security, with New Orleans police and other security agencies patrolling.
By Sunday, the whole area around the 'Dome will be closed to traffic.
The area across Claiborne, where Saints tailgating takes place, will be closed. Perdido and Gravier will be partly closed, only allowing for-hire vehicles to drop-off passengers on the way to the game.
Poydras will become a pedestrian mall between St. Charles Avenue and Galvez. Loyola Avenue will become a pedestrian mall between Tulane Avenue and Girod Street.
New Orleans officials suggest utilizing public transportation because many of the normal parking ares are unavailable.
