A 911 call on Friday morning from a Slidell area campground alerted police officers that a female camper had been raped by a man with a gun, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office
When police arrived on scene around 8:15 a.m., they began administering medical aid to the victim and searching the area for a suspect that matched the clothing and physical description they were given.
When they found a match, the suspect originally resisted verbal commands, but was eventually taken into custody, according to police.
They found a concealed handgun with an obliterated serial number on Louis Bordes, IV, 22, who later confessed to the rape.
Bordes was booked with aggravated rape, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, resisting an officer and possession of an unidentified firearm due to obliterated serial number.
