NEWORLEANS- An armed robbery suspect who escaped from a Jefferson Parish interview room despite being handcuffed, was apprehended Thursday, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Harry J. Mitchell was brought in to custody by the U.S. Marshal's Office.

Mitchell had originally been arrested as a suspect in an armed robbery of a man's iPhone in Harvey. After escaping with the goods, deputies said they tracked Mitchell after the victim activated his iPhone tracking app.

Mitchell was taken into custody, but escaped from an interview room, despite being handcuffed.

Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, investigators discovered Mitchell was no longer in the room and noticed that one of the cuffs was still attached to the floor plate.
