NEW ORLEANS- The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead just after noon on Saturday.

Police say they responded to calls about gunfire in the 1800 block of Conti Street. Officers arrived on the scene and found a 27-year-old man lying unresponsive on the sidewalk. Police say the victim was wearing an ankle monitor and had been shot multiple times. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The name of the victim will not be released until police can notify the victim's family.

Police were able to obtain surveillance video in the area. From the video detectives were able to identify two persons of interest in the shooting.

Police describe the first person of interest as a black male, wearing a brown t-shirt, and blue jeans.

The second person of interest is described as a black male, wearing a white or silver bandana, a light colored polo shirt, and blue jeans.

Police say the two drove away from the scene in a dark colored, four door sedan with a sunroof.
