Salvetti has been Will's swim coach for years and says his absence at swim practice this week has been tough for the other kids. 'The kids will ask after him everyday, they will say, 'How is Will? Have you heard from him?''said Salvetti.

'I was devastated, said Adam CoigentWill's teammate. 'I just hope that everything goes well and he gets recuperated.'

Teammates describe will as fun and friendly and now they want to do what they can to help.

'Immediately, we decided to do a fundraiser for him to help out with payments,' said Coigent.'The car wash is one of the main things to help out with money.'

Friends and family say there is no doubt he will make a fast recovery. When asked if he is a fighter, friend and teammate Gabriel Prator said, 'Yes,' without hesitation.
