NEW ORLEANS- The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted for a robbery in the French Quarter on Friday morning.

Police say at around 4 a.m. the victim was standing at the corner of Bourbon and Canal streets when a man grabbed his cell phone.

When the victim tried to confront the man, police say the suspect lifted his shirt revealing a knife in his waistband. Police say the suspect then fled northbound on Canal St. and turned right onto Dauphine Street.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 155 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, white shoes, a dark-colored sweatshirt and a gray beanie. You can see his picture above.
