NEW ORLEANS -- Police are asking the public's help in finding a man wanted for attempted murder in New Orleans East.

Eddie Young, 56, is wanted for attempted second-degree murder.

According to NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson, Young got into an argument with his girlfriend in the 6100 block of East Hermes.

Robertson said Young went back into his car to grab his gun, walked to the front door and then fired two shots at one of the victims.

Young approached the other victim, who was outside the home in the driveway, pointed his gun at her and pulled the trigger. The gun jammed, however, and Young then fled the scene in a 1997 Buick Sentry.

Police say the getaway vehicle is champagne in color and had a Louisiana license plate number of WFK-974.

Young is believed to be armed and dangerous.

If you know his whereabouts, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
