NEWORLEANS-- A Treme woman has died after she was hit by a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle last week, according to the victim's family.

Daphne Cola, 37, was leaving the Kermit's Treme Mother-in-Law Lounge at Claiborne Avenue and Columbus Street at about 11:30 p.m. on July 27 when she was hit by an ATV.

The driver and passenger were thrown from the vehicle, but they left the wrecked ATV and fled the scene. Witnesses said several motorcycles, ATVs and dirt bikes were seen speeding down Claiborne Avenue before the accident.

Cola had been in a coma for more than a week when she died.

Police are still working to determine a suspect in this case.
