NEW ORLEANS ― Despite claiming all week the Saints wouldn't hold anyone back in going for their 13th win, New Orleans has made three starters and several key backups inactive for today's regular season finale against Carolina.

Free safety Malcolm Jenkins and linebacker Jonathan Vilma will not play as the Saints eye the first-round of the playoffs. They're joined by receiver Lance Moore, running back Mark Ingram, tight ends John Gilmore and Tory Humphrey and defensive end Jeff Charleston.

Jenkins is a healthy scratch, but a year ago in this exact game, was injured in the first half and missed the playoffs.

Vilma, meanwhile, will rest his left knee, which he had surgically cleaned up in the middle of the season. He returned for the Dec. 4 game against Detroit after missing three games and four weeks.

For Carolina, quarterback Jimmy Clausen, kicker Adi Kunalic, safety Jordan Pugh, linebacker Omar Gaither, center Jeff Byers, defensive tackle Andre Neblett and defensive end Charles Johnson are inactive.
