SLIDELL, La. - The body of a man authorities have been searching for since it was discovered he and his wife had capsized was found on the Bogue Chitto River on Saturday morning, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
After campers alerted LDWF of the body, William Holloway, 63, was pulled from the river at 8 a.m. about a mile and half away from where his boat capsized on Dec. 28.
His wife, Kathy Holloway, 61, had been found Jan. 12, about a quarter of a mile away from the capsized boat.
LDWF had been searching for the couple since Dec. 28 when they were alerted by a passing boater of the capsized vessel, authorities said. The Holloways were camping on the Bogue Chitto and were last heard from at 3 p.m. on Dec. 27.
The 14-foot aluminum flat bottom boat was found about a mile from the boat launch at Lock No. 3 Road on the Pearl River Navigational Canal.
Investigators are attempting to figure out why the boat capsized.
