NEW ORLEANS NOPD arrested one of two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery at popular Riverbend record store The Mushroom this past Friday.

According to authorities, detectives were able to identify Adonis Harris, 24, as the cross-dressing robber who stowed a revolver in the waistband underneath his black dress.

Police still haven't identified the other suspect.

Around 10 p.m. Friday, the pair casually walked into the store in the 1000 block of Broadway Street and Harris approached the register to ask the clerk to use the bathroom. The other man stood at the front door as a lookout, police said.

Then, Harris walked behind the counter and demanded the clerk to open the register. The other man ordered an employee to open the safe in the manager's office, according to the NOPD.

The men fled on foot in an unknown direction after collecting $2,000 in cash.

Police described the second suspect as a black man with a light complexion, approximately 5-foot-8. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark shirt during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
