Six people, including three children, were injured late Friday night in a head-on collision along La. 311 in Houma in which police suspect one driver was drunk.

Lanier Soudelier, 51, of Lafayette, was charged with second-offense DWI, driving left of the centerline, and vehicular negligent injury, according to State Police Troop C.

Soudelier was travelling north on La. 311 near Ellendale Boulevard in Houma about 11:20 p.m. when he began veering across the centerline into the southbound lane, police said.
