MARRERO, La. During Saturday's early morning hours, a suspect with a firearm entered a Marrero gas station, demanded money from the cashier and fled on foot with the cash, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Around 4:04 a.m., the thief entered the Texaco Station at 4963 Lapalco Boulevard, deputies said.

He is described as black, 20 to 25 years in age, approximately 5'6' tall and 150 pounds. He had short facial hair. He was wearing a red hoodie with a large design on the front, dark pants and black shoes.

The weapon was described as a black, semi-automatic pistol, according to the JPSO.

JPSO is asking for the public's help in locating the suspect and provided photographs captured on video surveillance.
