BAYOU CORNE, La. -- Work has come to a halt again at the site of the giant sinkhole in Assumption Parish.

The sinkhole near Bayou Corne has been the focus of Eyewitness Investigations.

Officials made the decision after an access ramp to a well pad and more trees were swallowed up early Thursday morning.

Seismic monitors have also picked up fluid and gas moving beneath the surface.

No word on when work at the site will resume.

There are 350 people still displaced from their homes because of the sinkhole that fist appeared in August.
