St. Tammany Fire District #1 collected 11 pallets of food -- approximately 1,000 pounds per pallet -- and the Slidell Police Department, Jennings Police Department and some faith-based groups collected an additional 18 pallets of food to help residents in Oklahoma recovering from a tornado damage.

All 29 pallets are currently at Slidell moving to Pearl River and will be transported Thursday to the Journey Church in Norman, Okla.
