Police are seeking information on a carjacking suspect who held his victim at gunpoint, authorities said.

The victim told police a 5-foot-8 black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks placed an unknown black semi-automatic handgun to the temple of her head Tuesday and stated, 'Give me the keys. Don't scream or I'll shoot you,' the NOPD said.

Police said the victim stated the suspect then drove west on Fig Street after she gave him the keys to her 2008 Silver Saturn. The victim said she was leaving her home and opened her car door before the suspect approached her.

The victim described the suspect as having a 17-year-old with a thin build and no facial hair while wearing a black sweatband around his head, white T-shirt and black sweatpants with a white stripe along the side of the leg.

Police are asking anyone with information to help solve this crime to call 504-658-6020 or Crimestoppers at 822-1111. Police said citizens could receive a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect responsible.
