NEW ORLEANS When a gunman opened fire in the St. Roch neighborhood, he killed his target and stuck another man in the leg, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Painters Street.

Witnesses in the area stated that a gunman ran up and shot the victim, causing the victim to collapse in the middle of the street, where he died, according to police. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim as Kendall Feliciana, 30.

Another man was struck in the leg by the crossfire, police said. He drove himself to the hospital and was in stable condition.

The gunman was black and dressed in all dark clothing. He fled the scene on foot.
