GULFOFMEXICO-- The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three people and a dog Sunday from a vessel that was taking on water several dozen miles offshore.

It happened about 50 miles offshore Dauphin Island in the Gulf of Mexico.

When the boat 'Second Chance' began to take on water, the put in a distress call over the radio.

A helicopter and response boat were dispatched to their location. The Coast Guard was then able to safely rescue the boat's occupants.

There were no injuries. Everyone on the boat was wearing life jackets.
