NEW ORLEANS -- Sunday was perfect for a Dog Day Afternoon.

We found some interesting canine costumes at the 32nd annual Dog Day Afternoon in City Park. It's one of the biggest fundraisers for the Louisiana SPCA, usually bringing in roughly 10 percent of its fundraising goal for the year.

The money goes to help pets get adopted, spayed and neutered, and organizers say there's a tremendous need.

'It is one of the best ways for us to raise money for all the homeless animals and and celebrate that human-animal bond,' said Ana Zorrilla, CEO of the Louisiana SPCA.

There were plenty of four-legged friends at the event looking for homes, and to spread the love, there was also a dog kissing booth where a dollar bought you a brief date with a boxer.

We found our own Sheba Turk, who helped host the event, sharing a smooch with the pooch.
