NEWORLEANS-- New Orleans police are investigating the shooting of a 18-year-old man in the Lower Ninth Ward.

The shooting happened after 7 p.m. in the 6300 block of Chartres Street.

According to NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson, the victim was shot multiple times. He hasn't been identified, and his condition is unknown.

Robertson had initially identified the victim as a 16-year-old boy, but he sent a correction later that the victim is, in fact, 18 years old.

Police haven't named a suspect or motive.
