NEW ORLEANS -- Neighbors at Baronne and Gravier say they're getting a lot more shut-eye after an Eyewitness News report earlier this month.

Residents were outraged when the city allowed one company to begin pouring concrete in the CBD as early as 2 a.m. without notifying any neighbors.

Now, a spokesman says the city has decided not to issue any more noise variances for construction before 5 a.m.

Contractors also must notify neighbors before any early morning work begins.
