NEW ORLEANS- The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an attempted second degree kidnapping of a woman that happened in the Marigny neighborhood Saturday morning.

Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Decatur Street and Franklin Avenue.

Police say an unidentified 28-year-old woman was in the area when she was approached by an African American male.The suspect had a gun and grabbed the woman. Police say the suspect tried to force victim into a black SUV with tinted windows. The victim told police a second unidentified male was inside of the SUV.

Police say after a struggle, the victim was able to get away from both suspects. The victim did not receive any serious injuries.

Police have released a sketch of the unidentified male who tried to grab the victim.Police describe him as an African American male in his mid-forties. He has short, salt and pepper colored hair and is around 5'9' tall. He has a thin build and a gold tooth.
