METAIRIE, La. ― Starting right cornerback Tracy Porter had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee after tearing the lateral meniscus late in Sunday's 16-14 win against Carolina.

Head Coach Sean Payton said the best estimate for Porter's return would be 3-4 weeks.

In all, 19 players were listed on Wednesday's practice injury report, including four players who didn't practice, three who were limited and 12 who were full. The Saints play at Arizona on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.

In addition to Porter, running back Pierre Thomas (ankle), defensive end Will Smith (groin) and running back Reggie Bush (fibula) did not practice.

Thomas was progressing, Payton said, adding that 'the swelling has gone down. If I were to elaborate, I'd say we feel good about his progress.'

Smith's injury was new, but no other news was available on it.

Safeties Roman Harper (hamstring) and Pierson Prioleau (chest) along with tight end Jeremy Shockey (knee) were limited.

Receiver Marques Colston (rib); tackles Jon Stinchcomb (shoulder) and Zach Strief (knee); running back Chris Ivory (knee); defensive backs Leigh Torrence (toe), Usama Young (quad) and Randall Gay (foot); linebackers Stanley Arnoux (ankle) and Anthony Waters (hamstring); tight end Jimmy Graham (ankle); and defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson (knee) all were full.

The Saints had never had more than nine players on an injury report and when asked why suddenly it jumped to 19, Payton said it was procedural.

'We're just trying to be more thorough,' Payton said. 'We want to make sure we list the appropriate guys.'

For Arizona, linebacker Paris Lenon (pelvis) was limited while receiver Steve Breaston (knee), Early Doucet (groin), defensive end Kenny Iwebema (knee) and safety Matt Ware (ankle) did not practice.
