NEWORLEANS - Another day in New Orleans started with violence - this time in the Seventh Ward.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Thursday, New Orleans Police received a call about a truck parked with bullet holes in it in the 2600 block of D'Abadie St. When they arrived on scene, they found two men shot to death in the vehicle.

A 26-year-old and another unidentified man were discovered inside of a 4-door white Nissan truck with its tail lights still on. Officers said both were shot multiple times and died on scene.

Exactly why these latest murders occurred is not yet known. Detectives say they do not have a motive for these killings, or suspects.

With rain approaching the city Thursday morning, officers are no doubt working to gather as much evidence from the scene as possible, before it washes away.

This investigation is just beginning, so police are asking anyone with information about these murders to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111, and you do not have to give your name.

WWL-TV will be updating this situation throughout the morning as new details become available.
