NEWORLEANS - Young people are still able to get into a New Orleans bar at 18-years-old, for now.

On Thursday, the New Orleans City Council deferred action on an ordinance that would raise the minimum age of people allowed in bars.

Some city leaders want to raise the age to 21, the legal drinking age.

Councilmember Jackie Clarkson submitted the proposal, which will be taken up during the October 18 meeting.
