PONCHATOULA, La. Two teenagers were arrested after a deputy noticed they were driving an ATV that did not have a key in the ignition, indicating that it may have been stolen, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

On Thursday, a deputy patrolling the area near N. Thibodeaux Road enacted a traffic stop on Forrest Fagan, 17, and Jacob McMorris, 18.

The teenagers told the deputy that they had borrowed and ATV from a friend and were riding around, according to the TPSO.

Within a few moments, the deputy was able to determine that the ATV had been reported stolen out of Washington Parish.

Fagan was charged with possession of stolen property.

McMorris was charged with possession of stolen property and driving an off road vehicle on the roadway.

The ATV was taken from the scene and the WPSO was notified of the recovery.
