NEW ORLEANS -- It was a hero's homecoming for a beloved four-legged friend who survived a recent carjacking and dog-napping.

Skeeter was the center of all the attention at a party in his honor Wednesday night. He was recently reunited with his owner after the two were separated during a carjacking on Oct. 30.

Police are still looking for the attackers, and Skeeter's owner is hoping they'll be brought to justice, but she says she feels like she already has plenty to celebrate.

'In a way I kind of feel like I won, you know, as much as you can win in a carjacking. I feel like I got my car back, I got my dog back and it's been a testament to how much this community can do for somebody,' said Skeeter's owner Meg, whose last name Eyewitness News is not releasing.

Meg said she hasn't been made aware of any leads in the case or possible suspects.

If you have any information that could help police, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
