NEWORLEANS-- It's a haircut that's been a long time coming for Saints punter Thomas Morstead.

Morstead says Steve Gleason inspired him to grow out and donate his flowing locks to Wigs for Kids.

Its a part of the annual St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser at Finn McCool's Irish Pub.

Morstead admitted he was nervous about the haircut.

'Actually, I didn't sleep very well, which is funny because the night before the Super Bowl I slept fine. Knowing I was losing my hair today I didn't sleep very well. Crazy how that works,' he said.

Organizers say they surpassed this year's goal of raising $100,000 for childhood cancer research.
