NEW ORLEANS The New Orleans Police Department said it is looking for a man in connection with an aggravated burglary and kidnapping in a New Orleans East motel Tuesday morning.

According to an NOPD release, Melvin L. Hendricks, 43, arrived at a motel in the 5000 block of Chef Menteur Hwy. at 3:05 a.m. armed with a knife and a gun. He allegedly forced his way inside a room where he and the man inside the room brawled.

Hendricks forced the man's wife into a car and fled, police said. The woman was later found, but police said she wasn't cooperating with detectives.

Anyone with information regarding the aggravated burglary and domestic aggravated kidnapping are asked to notify detectives at 504-658-6030 or anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111.
