TANIGPAHOA, La. -- A Tangipahoa Parish man has been arrested on charges of contractor fraud.

According to investigators, 54-year-old James Coats was taken into custody Monday for collecting money from unsuspecting homeowners for home improvements which have never been completed.

Numerous attempts were made by the homeowner to reach Coats, but their calls were never returned.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says Coats in a taped confession admitted to accepting the money with the intentions of never completing the job.
