NEWORLEANS - The Crescent City Classic is described as the original party race and is held every Saturday before Easter.
It attracts more than 20,000 runners (and partyers) each year.
The 35th anniversary race is set to start at 8 a.m. It has a new route for 2013, which begins at Poydras and Loyola.
Participants will go down Loyola to S. Peters, cross Canal Street, then down Decatur to Esplanade and then up to City Park. Some of the route will be familiar to past participants, but there is construction on Esplanade.
The post-race party takes place in City Park.
Tow trucks will be out starting at midnight to make sure no cars are parked along the race course.
Officials warn participants to not park on the Marconi neutral ground or any other neutral ground. Be wary of fire hydrants, driveways and cross walks.
Poydras will close at 5 a.m. Saturday between Claiborne and Loyola.
