NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Saturday morning on North Rampart Street, killing one man and injuring two others.

Officers responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection of North Rampart and Touro streets. A man was found suffering from gunshot wounds and died on the scene. Two other male victims were taken to the hospital and suffered non life-threatening wounds.

Witnesses told investigators that a silver or grey Ford F150 pickup truck with a green 'no insurance' sticker drove up to the location. The passenger of the truck opened fire on the victims. Police recovered a handgun on the scene.

The name of the victim who died is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Investigators have no suspect or motive at this time. Anyone with information is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.
