NEW ORLEANS Police identified and arrested a second shooter, 20-year-old Jasha Banks, for a double homicide in the 7thWard, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Banks was arrested by the NOPD Gang Unit at her home on Frenchmen Street, police said. Homicide Detective Timothy Bender said Banks, along with Jeremiah Jackson, fatally shot 46-year-old Moises Hernandez and 30-year-old Jose Bardales on Sept. 9 in the 2000 block of North Derbigny Street.

According to police, the men, who were doing electrical work, had just stepped out of their truck to eat lunch when Banks and Jackson shot them multiple times.

Jackson was arrested earlier and remains in custody, police said. Both Banks and Jackson are booked with two counts of first-degree murder.
