NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are expected to release additional details about the arrests of two men in connection with the murders of an infant and father later Friday afternoon.

Police stopped 23-year-old Kevin Thomas and 20-year-old Isaac Pierre Thursday night as they drove in the 5100 block of Franklin Avenue.

According to the NOPD, detectives learned information that led them to watch a nearby home.

Cops cuffed Thomas and Pierre when they left the house and booked them with two counts of first-degree murder.

They are accused of opening fire on 25-year-old Deshawn Butler and his 7-month-old son Deshawn Kinard as they rode down General De Gaulle in Algiers.

The 7-month-old's mother said by phone Friday that she did not know Thomas and Pierre, but that she 'thanks God' that they're now in custody.

The shooting happened Nov. 13 not far from the Crescent City Connection Bridge.

Additional arrests are expected.
