FOLSOM, La. -- A 76-year-old man is behind bars on suspicions of drunk driving after a three-vehicle crash took the life of a 66-year-old man near Folsom.
The crash happened Monday at about 2:30 p.m. on Hwy. 25.
James Albury, 76, was driving a pick-up truck northbound on Hwy. 25. Driving southbound were Gary White, 66, and Robert Ables, 53,
Police say Albury crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane, eventually colliding with White's vehicle.
Albury's vehicle overturned on the highway, while White was pushed off the road and into a fence. Ables then sideswiped White's vehicle while trying to avoid Albury's overturned vehicle.
First responders transported White to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Albury and Ables were not injured.
While impairment is not suspected for Ables and White, Louisiana State Police say drugs and alcohol use are suspected for Albury. The crash remains under investigation.
Albury faces charges of DWI, improper lane usage and vehicular homicide. He's being held in the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
Everyone was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
