ST. JOHN PARISH- Louisiana State Police suspect driver impairment may have been a factor in a two-vehicle crash that killed a Kenner man who was traveling the wrong way on I-10 early Sunday morning.

State Police say the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate-10 in St. John the Baptist Parish. Police say 54-year-old Patrick Sullivan was driving his vehicle eastbound in the westbound lanes when he struck an oncoming truck.

State Police say Sullivan was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the second vehicle suffered only minor injuries and declined medical attention.

State Police say they suspect Sullivan was under the influence of either alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. State Police are waiting for the results of toxicology tests.
