BATON ROUGE --Jefferson Parish President John Young announced he is running for lieutenant governor Tuesday morning.

Young will face another Louisiana parish president and neighbor for the state's no. 2 office. Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser is also vying for the seat.

State Sen. Elbert Guillory, of Opelousas, is also running for the office, andBaton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden has hinted he will run, but has yet to make it official.

Incumbent Jay Dardenne is expected to run for governor.
