PORT FOURCHON, La. Seven Greenpeace activists were arrested after Lafourche Police said they boarded a vessel and wrote messages on the boat for Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, who is on the Louisiana Gulf Coast area in response to the BP oil spill.

Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrests on charges that the activists, none of whom was from Louisiana, gained unauthorized entry to a critical infrastructure and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. More charges could be pending.

Webre said the activists painted anti-Arctic drilling signs on the vessel.

Webre said the seven activists have been in the area for the past week and had repeatedly been warned not to hamper clean up operations.

Arrested were: Lindsey Renee Allen, 28, Vacaville, CA; Lauren Valle, 23, Falmouth, MA; Emma Cassidy. 24, Washington, DC; David Pomerantz, 24, Irvington, NY; Georgia F. Hirsty, 25, Washington, DC; Scott Cardiff, 32, Washington, DC; Paul Kelley, 26, Washington, DC.
