NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have recovered the vehicle that was stolen in last week's carjacking and shooting on Camp Street.

New Orleans Police Department spokeswoman Remi Braden said police found the stolen 2004 Cadilllac Escalade Saturday afternoon in a New Orleans East neighborhood.

Police haven't been able to identify the three suspects who stole the vehicle from a 53-year-old man last Tuesday. The suspects shot the victim in the chest while in his driveway in the 3400 block of Camp Street before fleeing with the vehicle.

Braden said a tip from a resident helped them locate the Escalade.

'I want to thank that person for calling us, and commend our detectives for their quick response to take hold of this new piece of evidence, which is expected to bring us much closer to solving this crime,' Serpas said.

The vehicle is now headed for forensic processing.

If you know the identity of the three suspects or anything that can help police investigating this case, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111. You could receive a cash reward.
