NEW ORLEANS Three years after the gruesome murder of a New Orleans woman slaying inside a Mid-City bar, a jury convicted her killed - Mike Tracyk - of first-degree murder in a verdict that came down a short time after deliberations began.

Tracyk was convicted of killing Nia Robertson in the Pal's Lounge bar near Bayou St. John in 2007.

'There's nothing crazy about this guy,'said District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro. 'He's just downright mean and vicious.'

Robertson was apparently enjoying a night out and just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

'(Tracyk)didn't fit in at the bar, so he lashed out. He lashed out because he was angry,'Cannizzaro said.

Minutes after their daughter's killer was found guilty, her parents - Marvel and Emile - walked out of the court room and said they were ready to start healing.

Traczyk's attorney, Jeffrey Smith, said in closing arguments that his client was 'delusional.'

'There is no other explanation for what happened in that bar other than the fact that Eric did not know right from wrong because he was delusional,' said Traczyk's attorney, Jeffrey Smith.

Accompanied by friends and District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro, the couple said they were glad to know that Tracyk would spend the rest of his life behind bars.
