SUMMIT, MS.- Mississippi authorities say a naked man, found dead in his home near McComb in October, died of blunt head trauma.
The Pike County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to Curtis Dunaway's home in the early morning hours of Oct. 21 for a disturbance. The incident report says deputies found Dunaway dead and naked, with facial injuries.
The Sheriff's Office says three people who were also in the home were arrested. Two teens, one Dunaway's son, who were also unclothed, were booked for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Dunaway's live-in girlfriend was also arrested for allowing her son, the other teen, to be under the influence of drugs.
The Medical Examiner's report, released this week, also says bath salts, hyrocodone and marijuana contributed to Curtis Dunaway's death. Pike County investigators are still classifying the death as undetermined because it's not clear whether the trauma was accidental, self-inflicted or intentional.
Despite authorities' plans to take the case to a grand jury, family members say they're shocked the case has gone nowhere.
